Veeven has released a new telugu script generator tool called Lekhini which is based on Nagarjuna Venna’s Padma
The main tweaks he did in his words :
The following are the advantages of my simplification:
- No need to scroll down in search of a text box to type in (The input box is right on top. Just type in after the page load.)
- You do not see options and settings that you never use (You will see just what you need.)
- The 3-window operation (type in one, copy in another, and paste in yet another) has been reduced to 2-window operation. (type and copy in one, and paste in another).
- An RTS Translitelation Chart beside your typing area—easy reference (to know what to type to get what).
- No more Yahoo ads
Please go to Lekhini site and give it a try.
hello nenu harish frm bowenpally ..i faceing problem in lekhini ..that iam pasting in rediff messenger that message not sending …it sending like(??????????????)..any problem i want to send in telugu format so plz reply to me..iam waiting for urs reply ………..
Why the script in telugu present in telugupeople.com is copied and pasted in my own file or some where else, the words are in some other code and could not be read.Only the lekhini script can be read in blog co.uk where as in the telugupeople .com they are using likhita in conversion changing. Some people’s postings in telugu are seen in some format. How to convert them with the help of lekhini into lekhini script?
Kindly inform.
yours sincerely,
Dr.P.M.Rao.

First the solution (to be able to copy your text from telugupeople.com and paste it anywhere else OR to be able convert likhita text into lekhini):
1. Make sure you have Firefox web browser.
2. Install Padma Extension for Firefox.
3. Then go to the page in telugupeople.com where you want to copy text from.
4. Copy the text. And, paste into wherever you want.
The description:
The text in the telugupeople.com is in a proprietory encoding format. To view it correctly, you need their font. When you view it in their website, your web browser will manage to get the font directly from the web site (or you yourself have installed that font when you first visited telugupeople.com). So when you copy that text into another application (say MS Word), it may not display the text correctly because of either non-understanding of proprietory encoding or non-availability of font to Word).
When you create Telugu text using lekhini.org, it is in Unicode. Unicode is an international standard to represent all languages in the world in a single encoding. Unicode has good support in all most all applications we use regularly.
You copy text you created using Lekhini into another application, you do not see wiered characters. When you type Telugu using Lekhini (or any other Unicode editor) and publish it to web, it becomes searchable. All major search engines will find your text.
The text you create using proprietory encodings (the text you see on telugupeople.com, eenadu.net etc) is not searchable in major search engines like Google and Yahoo. Only a couple of search engines (like Guruji) will support proprietory encodings to an extent.
Firefox may not correctly display non-Unicode text in telugupeople.com, eenadu.net. Padma Extension for Firefox automatically converts (when you visit those sites) the non-Unicode text into Unicode, in the web browser.
